Possible
solutions
Anti-virus / spyware
It is important to ensure that you have Anti-virus and Anti-spyware programs installed,
and keep them updated and scan regularly.
We
use and recommend Norton Anti-Virus. Please contact us to find
out about Norton Anti-Virus and other anti-virus solutions we have
for you.
Low hard disk space
Check to see how much free space you have on your Hard Drive.
This can be done by opening My Computer then right-clicking
on your C Drive icon and select Properties. It
is good to have at least 5GB of free hard drive space to allow
programs to run properly and efficiently. If you have less
than this, then you may need to upgrade your hard drive.
Corrupted files
To keep files from becoming corrupted is quite easy. We recommend a regular "Disk Defragment" to better
allocate your files and clean up unused data. The Disk Defragmenter
can be found in the Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools
folder in the Windows XP operating system.
Operating
temperatures
Check your motherboard user manual and find out what temperature
your CPU is meant to operate at. It should be between 55
degrees C and 75 degrees C.
Check to hear if all your fans are working, also check the environment your hard drive is operating in, is it dusty
or confined?.
Sometimes dust in the case will increase the possibility of
overheating.
